SS. John and Catherine - Mt Carroll

“To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely. And you are, dear brothers and sisters, the face of Jesus.”
Pope Francis

Local Support for the Poor of Haiti

Founded in 2001 by three Catholic men from the Rockford Diocese, the mission of Hope of Haitians is to provide: shelter, clean water, agricultural resources, medical support, education and sustainable skills for the poorest of the poor in Haiti.

Homes For Destitute Families

We start with housing. The families we assist typically live in primitive shelters made from cast off materials. We provide a secure, dry, clean, cinder block home that they own.

Safe Water and Sanitation

Water borne disease is a killer in poor communities. We ensure clean water and proper sanitation, through wells, water purification and sanitary facilities.

Sustainable Food and Income

Establishing sustainable food sources; goats, chickens, gardens, cassava bakeries, rice and corn mills, is an important step. In addition we help residents develop income producing enterprises to better provide for their families.

Community Development and Education

We help coordinate and train local village councils so residents can manage their own affairs. We also support educational development for children and adults.

Medical Services

Basic healthcare and preventative care saves lives. Working with Haitian doctors and medical staff, support medical care in two villages, and mobile clinics in other. Medication, testing, prenatal care are a few of the services provided.

Be the Difference - Give Today!

Every gift helps make hope real. Make a difference today and transform the life of a family living in poverty.
